Melted Snowman Donuts

Ingredients

  • 6 Donuts
  • 6 Marshmallows
  • 7 ounces of White Chocolate Melts
  • 2 ounces of Black Chocolate Melts
  • 6 Red Sour Strips
  • Orange Candy Color

Instructions

  1. -Put your white chocolates melts in a large microwave safe bowl and put it into the microwave and warm them up for 30 seconds. Use a spatula to mix the chocolate and place it back in the microwave. Heat the chocolate in 15 second intervals, stirring in between until the chocolate are smooth liquid.
  2. -Next, scoop out about 2 tablespoons of the melted white chocolate and place it in a smaller bowl.
  3. -Put 3 drops of orange candy color in the smaller bowl of melted white chocolate. Mix it until all of the chocolate is orange.
  4. -Put the orange chocolate in a piping bag and secure the ends.
  5. -Melt your black chocolate melts using the same steps you did for the white melting chocolate. Once its melted, place it in a piping bag and secure the end.
  6. - Lay out a sheet off parchment paper and then get your bowl of melted white chocolate, if it has solidified place the bowl back in the microwave and warm the chocolate for 15-20 seconds.
  7. -Once the chocolate is ready, dip your donut in the chocolate so it covers the entire top of the donut. Wipe off the excess chocolate on the side of the bowl and then place the donut on the sheet of parchment paper. Repeat this step for the rest of the donuts.
  8. -Put a marshmallow in the hole of the donut. Be sure to lay the marshmallows in different directions so each snowman looks different.
  9. -Allow the snowman to sit on a flat surface to dry for about 10 minutes.
  10. -Once the donuts are dry, reheat your orange and black chocolate in the microwave for 15-20 seconds. Cut small holes in the tip of the bag.
  11. -Pipe 2 large dots on the marshmallows of the snowman’s eyes and below that pipe 4-5 dots in a curve line to make a smile.
  12. -With your orange chocolate, pipe a triangle in the middle of the eyes and smile to make the snowman’s nose.
  13. -Get your red sour strips, fold them in half to wrap around your snowman. To secure the candy scarf, pipe small dots of orange icing around the donut and lay the strip on top of it. As it drys, it will secure the candy in place.
  14. -Put your donuts on a plate to serve and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

-These donuts were store brought but you can make home made donuts. Use a variety of flavors to add more of a festive feel to the donuts.
-Have fun when creating the faces so each donut looks different and creative.
-Store these donuts in a container in a cool dry place for up to 4 days.
