Minimalism 2 Month Journey
This is the recap of our minimalism 2-month journey. We have been minimizing for 2 months now! I have gone through our entire house and I think we are at a good stopping point.
I am no longer sorting through everything, but now I am waiting to see what we use and what we don’t.
If there are more items that we don’t use as time goes on I will get rid of them.

Changes with Minimalism
One interesting thing I did last month is I didn’t buy anything except food and essential items. My goal was to only buy food and pay our bills.
I was very excited when my credit card bill came and it was over 300 dollars less than normal!
This month I am going to do the same, I am only going to buy food and pay our bills. I plan to do this for as long as I can and see how it goes. It will be interesting to see if I can save even more money next month.
Another thing I have done is I have stopped watching TV.
I might watch about 30 minutes of news once in a while, but overall I have just stopped watching. I have also stopped having the kids watch TV.
It was getting out of control and I noticed that TV was negatively affecting my son. So now he barely ever watches TV anymore and I have seen a huge improvement in the way he acts.
Because I don’t watch TV I have a lot of time to get things done.
In the last few months, I have read about 7 books! I love reading and I can’t believe I was wasting so much time watching mindless crap on TV.
When we lived in NZ we didn’t have cable and we only had 3 channels so it was really easy for me to stop watching ( I knew I would be fine). Grant has even stopped watching so much TV and now in the evenings he often goes to our community gym.
Just in the last few days, I have taken a social media break, but I will be back.
Minimalist Books I have read (and highly recommend)
The More of Less by Joshua Becker
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
Stuffocation by James Wallman
YouTube channels about minimalism I have been watching
A lot has changed, but it has all been positive. I feel so much happier and I have gained so much time!
