Winter Aesthetic Plus 10 Ways to Get in the Mood For Winter
1 . Cold Walks
It feels great to get out of the house and go for a crisp walk in the cool weather. I live in a place where we don’t get snow, but it still gets cool.
Make sure you bundle up with all your warm winter clothes. Have you ever tried hand warmers? These work great for long walks in cold weather.
Walking in the winter is great for your health too! It will boost your brain, you will live longer, and it’s great for your joints. Read more about the benefits here.
2 . Twinkle Lights
These winter aesthetic twinkle light photos can put anyone into the holiday mood. My kids love getting in the car and driving around to see all the local Christmas lights.
This is a fun activity to do in the early evening for kids and adults. One tip I have is to write down the addresses of the homes that you love.
Take it from me, it is hard to remember year to year the best places to visit.
Here are the BEST TWINKLE LIGHTS that I have been using for years! The best part is you don’t need to plug them in and they have a remote.
3 . Holiday Cookies
There is nothing better than baking in the winter. It helps warm up our home and smells delicious.
Every year I try to make at least one batch of cookies per week. Cookies disappear really fast in our home!
We love to try out new recipes as well as the tried and true chocolate chip cookies!
4 . Cozy Winter Outfits
Now is the time to get your cozy winter wardrobe in order. Here is how I make a simple winter capsule wardrobe.
My go-to base items are skinny jeans, boots, and sweaters.
Adding layers on top depending on how cold it is outside.
Kids are so cute bundled up for fun in the snow!
5 . Decorated Homes
Holiday decor is the best! It feels so festive and cheerful.
I love a decorated porch, just adding some lights and garland can transform the front of a home.
This is how we decorated our minimalist home for Christmas.
6 . Cozy Socks
Cozy socks and slippers keep us warm during these cold nights. My favorite slippers are the moccasins from LL BEAN.
I am wearing them as I type this.
These slippers have lasted through the years and they are still in good condition year after year!
Cozy socks/slippers are the quickest way to get into that winter mood.
7 . Warm Fires and Hot Chocolate
Relaxing in front of a warm fire while sipping hot chocolate, what more could we want!
Making a fire always puts me in the mood for winter and of course, it’s a great way to stay warm.
Something about the crackling wood noise is very relaxing.
8 . Winter Aesthetic Books
Last year I read some holiday-themed books. I was shocked at how that put me in such a great mood for the winter and holidays.
In case you are looking for some winter aesthetic books try this series, Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand. These books had me imagining twinkle-lightlined streets.
Cold walks with loved ones and lots of family time!
9 . Wrapping Gifts For the Holidays
It is so fun to wrap gifts! Since I am trying to be eco-conscience I decided to make some reusable gift bags. This was a fun project all on its own.
We use these cloth gift bags year after year. Another great way to make your own gift wrap is to use what you already have.
Cut up a paper grocery bag or reuse a gift bag from years past.
Oh yeah, don’t forget to make a festive drink to enjoy while you wrap. My drink of choice is coffee with vanilla almond milk creamer.
10 . Start a Journal
Now is the perfect time to start a journal.
Since we are heading into the new year consider documenting your next adventure, or just jot down some ideas you plan to put into action.
Whenever I get a great inspiring idea I always add them to my journal this way when I am lacking inspiration I can revisit my journal to get motivated.
I love to look back on my journals from past years to see how far I have come and what has changed.
Cozy up to read past journals or jot down some inspiring ideas!
