How to Download & Use the Checklist

To make this as easy as possible, I’ve created a free printable version of the 100 Things to Declutter checklist. You can download it, print it out, and keep it somewhere visible, like on your fridge, in a planner, or on a clipboard.

There’s something really powerful about physically checking things off as you go. It turns decluttering into something you can see and track, which helps you stay motivated.

If printing isn’t your thing, you can also save it to your phone or tablet and check items off digitally as you go.

What happens if I don’t have the items on the list? Don’t worry about it!

Find what you can. This list is just for motivation and to help us think outside of what we normally look for.

How to Break It Into 4 Weeks (25 Items Per Week)

Instead of trying to tackle everything at once, this checklist is designed to be completed over four weeks.

Each week, focus on just 25 items.

That might look like:

  • Decluttering a few items each day, or
  • Doing one focused session per week, or
  • Adding it into your daily routine (5–10 minutes at a time)

The goal isn’t to rush; it’s to stay consistent.

By the end of the month, you’ll have decluttered 100 things without burnout or overwhelm. And the best part? These small wins start to build momentum, making it easier to keep going even after the challenge is over.

Beginner-Friendly Decluttering Tips

If you’re newer to decluttering (or just feeling stuck), here are a few simple tips to help you get started:

1. Start small
Don’t begin with your whole closet or garage. Start with one drawer, one shelf, or even just 5 items. Small wins build confidence.

2. Look for the “easy yes” items
Things that are broken, unused, or that you already know you don’t want anymore are the best place to start.

3. Don’t overthink it
If you haven’t used it, don’t love it, or it doesn’t fit your life right now, it’s okay to let it go.

4. Keep a donation box nearby
Having a designated spot makes it easy to drop items in as you go instead of creating piles you have to deal with later.

5. Focus on how you want your home to feel
Instead of focusing on what you’re getting rid of, think about the space you’re creating, calm, clean, and easy to maintain.

6. Progress over perfection
You don’t have to do it all in one day. Every single item you declutter makes a difference.
