Fall Bucket List – Simple Cozy Fall
Today I am sharing my Fall bucket list for a simple cozy Fall.
Fall is finally here and the excitement has set in. Now we can finally drink a hot cup of coffee without sweating. I love the falling leaves and the cozy feel that Fall brings into our lives. Here are some fun Fall activities for a cozy season. Make sure to get my free Fall bucket list at the end of this post.
Fall Bucket List IDEAS
1 – PUMPKIN PATCH AT THE FARM
Every year we love to head out to the local farm and see all the pumpkins. If you live in Southern California you can visit Tanaka Farms.
At this particular pumpkin patch that we visit there is a corn maze, hayride, pumpkin picking, and so much more.
I love being outside and enjoying the crisp Fall air, making this experience very memorable for the kids.
2 – DECORATE FOR FALL
Decorating for Fall is so simple and affordable. I think this is the easiest season to decorate for without buying a bunch of trinkets to store all year.
I like to decorate with fresh flowers and pumpkins.
This year I made a super simple Eucalyptus wreath that hangs over my fireplace. The wreath was so easy to make and completely free, check out the tutorial here.
When it comes to decor less is always more, by adding just a few pumpkins and some yellow flowers I have given my home that cozy Fall feels.
3- WARM DRINKS
Now that it is finally cooling down I intend to take advantage of all the warm drinks! I have started drinking more tea throughout the day and if you are into anything pumpkin-flavored this is your season.
Yesterday I went to Trader Joe’s and saw pumpkin-flavored everything!
4 – MAKE YOUR OWN HALLOWEEN COSTUME
I have a whole post on the history of my Halloween costumes, but I love to make my own costumes. This doesn’t have to involve sewing either.
I like to get creative and see what I can use from my own wardrobe first.
Sometimes all I have to do is add a hat or some makeup to complete the costume. Halloween is all about getting creative and having fun.
5 – APPLE SAUCE
Try making your own apple sauce. This is such a simple thing to make and the kids can help too. Check out my super simple Apple Sauce Recipe for inspiration.
6 – HOST A COZY FALL GATHERING
I love to host parties and have friends and family over. Decorate using the current season for inspiration.
For instance in my Tips For Hosting a Fall Themed party I used all of my Fall colored table clothes and some sunflowers for decor, making it such an easy party to throw together.
I added these yellow flowers to my front yard.
7 – SWITCH TO YOUR FALL WARDROBE
As the weather gets cooler I am reminded to switch out my wardrobe. I use a simple capsule wardrobe for each season.
For Fall all I do is add in some layers and take away my extremely summer-looking prints.
This way I can incorporate most of my summer wardrobe into my Fall capsule wardrobe.
8 – PLAY IN THE FALL LEAVES
My boys gather up the leaves and then roll around in them. They love having a leaf fight or listening to the crunching noise they make. I like to gather leaves that aren’t too crunchy for simple art projects.
Take a leaf and paint one side, now use it as a stamp to create some simple seasonal art.
9 – GO TRICK OR TREATING IN FALL
Back when I was little I can remember running from house to house to get as much candy as possible. After we ran out of houses with candy, we went home and sorted it into piles.
Now that I am a mom I see the other side of trick or treating. Watching my boys run from house to house and then stealing all their candy when they go to sleep, just like all parents do LOL.
10 – EVENING AUTUMN WALKS
I intend to take advantage of these cooler nights by going on evening walks. Getting fresh air in the evening is a great way to unwind before bed.
11 – BAKE SOMETHING DELICIOUS
The baking has already started! I am taking full advantage of everything pumpkin flavored. We have already made some pumpkin bread from Trader Joe’s and some banana bread from the Oh She Glows cookbook.
The smell of something baking gives our home that cozy Fall feel.
12 – FALL FLOWER ARRANGEMENT
Make a simple Fall flower arrangement. I like to use sunflowers and branches from the tree in our backyard. This is such an affordable arrangement that we can do this several times a month.
13 – GET CRAFTY FOR FALL
Halloween is the best time to get crafty. Make your costume or some cute decorations.
My boys used some pipe cleaners to make spooky spiders and as Halloween gets closer we will add more homemade decorations, like paper bats and some handmade flag bunting.
14 – CARVE PUMPKINS
Carving pumpkins is a Halloween tradition and a fun activity for kids of all ages. I like to buy my pumpkins early and use them as decorations.
As Halloween gets closer we will carve them with a spooky design.
15 – FALL FESTIVALS
We love to go to the school Fall festival and take part in all the fun Fall activities. Usually, there are a lot of local Fall activities; homecoming football games, farmers markets, and pumpkin patches.
I intend to take full advantage of the Fall festivities.
